How do I measure for a grazing muzzle?

We recommend using a cloth measuring tape to measure the circumference of your horse’s muzzle. (If you do not have a cloth measuring tape, you can use a piece of bailing twine or ribbon to wrap around your horse’s muzzle and then measure.) You will want to place the measuring tape so it hits the most prominent part of your horse’s chin and then around to the top of his nostril. Keep the tape comfortably tight—not squishing the nose, but not falling off the nose, either.

For the halter portion of Tough1 Grazing Muzzles (except for the muzzle attachment), you will want to measure the crown of a halter that already fits your horse and the throat.

Tough1 Easy Breathe Grazing Muzzles come in a variety of sizes: “A” Mini, Mini, Yearling, Pony, Small Horse, Horse, Large Horse, and Draft. You can see the current muzzle sizing charts here

The halter portion of the Tough1 Easy Breathe Grazing Muzzle offers multiple adjustment areas to provide a more custom fit, including the cheek pieces, crown piece and throat latch. Be sure to select the size that allows some space around the nose to help prevent rubbing, you don’t want the basket to fit tightly around the nose.
