Can I waterproof my blanket/sheet?

Yes, you can waterproof your Tough1 Blankets and Sheets. 

Not all Tough1 Blankets and Sheets are waterproof. Some styles are simply weather-resistant or have no waterproof properties whatsoever. A waterproofer can be applied to these products to increase their weatherproof abilities but it may compromise the breathability of the blanket or sheet. Be sure choose a horse blanket-specific waterproofer and follow the instructions.

The lifespan of waterproofing depends entirely on weather exposure and care. But even with proper care, the most expensive blankets will still eventually need to be re-waterproofed. We recommend using a horse blanket-specific waterproofer, but tent/camping waterproofer can be an affordable option in a pinch. Be sure to follow the waterproofer instructions and test in an inconspicuous spot first. For best coverage, the blanket should be clean and dry.
